We may be a small village but we have a lovely, newly refurbished hall that's available to hire for celebration events, birthday parties, sports and community events. Our large hall regularly hosts weekly sports activities including Gym Buddies for young people. You can hire the centre and individual rooms for celebration events such as children's birthday parties with a range of packages to suit most budgets, live music and rehearsal space. Meeting or quiet room hire is available (together with free wifi) in our newly refurbished office suite. If you're looking for catering facilities we have our very own cafe and a range of catering packages available for special events. Our outside space is equally stunning, with a newly landscaped garden area plus a children's play area. To make our events even more special we have recently been granted an alcohol licence to support our special events and private hire functions available from our new bar area Hedley's, named after the local pit.
Situated in the heart of Quaking Houses, a small village in County Durham close to Stanley but convenient for Chester-le-Street and Consett, we are easy to travel to with plenty of parking available on site. As a former mining village, we are proud of our heritage and the Quaking Houses mining banner is on permanent display at the hall.
As a charity, all the money we raise from our venue hire, ticket sales and fundraising is invested back into our local community including providing food and support for those in need, regular advice and support sessions, wellbeing and fitness advice as well as community events.
